Proposed Central Radioactive Waste Processing Facility for Radiation Protection Board – Phase I

The project comprised of;

• Proposed Central Radioactive Waste Processing Facility [with the sole responsibility being protecting the health and safety of people and the environment from the harmful effects of ionizing radiation by safe disposal of radioactive materials].
• Proposed administration block, laboratories and auditorium.
• Proposed staff quarters and recreation facilities centre.

The project also comprised of a 10 m span bridge across the Oloolua River on the 500 m access road.

The total construction cost was Kshs 575 million.
