PROPOSED KPLC – RBST [Now Kenya Power Pension Fund] – HOUSING SCHEME IN LORESHO

The project is located on L.R. No. 21080/58 Loresho, Nairobi. The project involved construction of a two storey commercial facility, a 3 storey 11 blocks of apartments, 12 no. of 2 storey villas, 13 no. of 2 storey town houses on split level, 54 no. of town houses (42 no. of on steep slope separated with retaining walls and 12 no. of on marshy ground), a kindergarten, a swimming pool, 2 no. of transformer rooms, a reinforced concrete underground water tank (reservoir), a high level steel elevated water tank, 2 no. of gatehouses and boundary wall, onsite sewerage treatment plant (Bio-digester), a landscaped water feature with pedestrian foot bridges across it,access roads and storm water drainage systems.

The main structural elements were strip footings for the foundations, load bearing masonry walls, reinforced concrete columns as ties, reinforced concrete beams and slabs for the suspended floor and combined steel/timber roof structure.

The total construction cost was Kshs 2.4 billion.
